Bethesda, MD (6/19/18) – Thompson Grants, a division of CBIS, is excited to announce that its grant-finding database, GrantScape, has earned first place for Best Use of Data at the 2018 Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) Awards, in Washington, DC. The SIPAwards Best Use of Data Category is defined as a single work in which data plays an essential role, where the data was both difficult or unusual to obtain and offered a significant increase to the end-user’s experience when using the service.

“Our team has been working hard to provide a grant-finding service that offers something that other products don’t, a comprehensive, customizable, user-focused database that is incredibly up-to-date, so we are pleased to see GrantScape recognized by SIPA. We have an ambitious road-map for new developments and I look forward to continuing to improve upon this already unique and user focused platform,” Rachlin said after the event.

Brittany Carter, president of CBIS, the parent company of Thompson Grants, added, “Grant-finding lists and sites have been around for a long time but the technology and data techniques were largely out of date. Our team set out to change that and bring data innovation to a sector that quite literally controls billions of dollars in funding.  I am thrilled that our GrantScape team came together to deliver such a stellar product in an industry that impacts so many.”

GrantScape, accessible at www.thegrantscape.com, connects grant seekers with funding opportunities from federal agencies, state governments, local municipalities and private foundations. Proprietary technology that detects updates to grants creates a database that is both one of the most comprehensive and one of the most current, containing more than 5,500 active grants, $24 million in potential funding and 180,000 Grantor Profiles at the time of the award.

Subscribers can search for opportunities on a variety of criteria including keyword, geography, grantor, funding types, and more; set up customized grants alerts that deliver new opportunities to their inboxes as they are added to the database; and access tens of thousands of Grantor Profiles which provide critical information that help them identify potential funding sources.
