BETHESDA, MD (October 6, 2015) — Columbia Books & Information Services (CBIS) today announced that it has acquired The Personnel Advisor, a leading state and federal employment law compliance and HR resource provider with offerings for employers in California, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

The addition of The Personnel Advisor’s line of loose-leaf compliance manuals and digital resource continues CBIS’ seven-year expansion in the compliance information and training services arena. This acquisition, in tandem with the earlier acquisitions of Thompson Information Services and Practical Business Training, will enable CBIS to further expand its reach in the HR, employment law, and employee benefits industry.
